I'm gonna punch a customer

Let's see what sales associates, from all audio retailers, have to say about customers!
To all customers that are reading this, there is more to a sale than getting the lowest price.

sorry man, for a 16yo kid who works at mcdonalds to buy a new stereo, its only about the lowest price,
everyone has gripes about their job and dealing with customers, i LOVE hearing people bit*h about the insane brokerage fees UPS charges, doesnt mean im gonna kick the next package they get, or be a ***** to em the next time im at their door. but if u seriously hate customer service that much, why not do something else?

MacDonalds boy went to a stereo suplus store and paid $200 for a pair of subs, box, deck and fronts and we've all heard his system. He got a good deal though.
I'm not in customer service anymore but I still have to deal with it in the install bay. I always love the customer that comes in every 4 months and tells me about his buddy this, his buddy that, his buddy did 800 decibels. It's not funny after the first 5 times.
All I want you to understand is that if I went in to a shop and asked about a product and they explained it to me, told me what I wanted to hear and gave a solid presentation I wouldn't probably buy it then and there. But if another shop had it for cheaper I wouldn't buy it from the cheaper guy, I would go back and try to work out a price with the first guy. At that point, and only at that point, if a deal was not met would I go back to the cheaper guy. If a customer comes in, knows exactly what they want and the associate didn't move on the price, whatever, I wouldn't buy it from him either. At the same time if the associate had metioned giving some accessories or free install I would indeed go for it.
When the customer recieves a good presentation a good price reduction and comes back a few days later and then buys it off of another associate for $5 less, then you can obviosly see my point, the first sales associate didn't get paid. If you don't want to pay for services, buy it off the net. Quit wasting time and gas to bothering salespeople and installers. If you're willing to listen to a good sales person, and get some good advice from an installer, at least recognize that.

I LOVE being in customer service.. But I hate people that don't think My time, knowledge and experience is worth something to them.
Back to the whole society issue.. Where do you think Mcd's kid learned he has to shop around?
I know when I started buying on a larger scale than bubble gum, Specialty stores were there to help you make an informed desicion, many of which I am still a loyal customer of to this day.

k in my case, i was at A&B last weekend, thats where i decided on the deck i wanted, because of a decent salesman, i went back there friday when i had the cash to get the deck, that salesman wasnt there, his coworker was a dink, i went elsewhere, was offered a good deal but no warranty unless i paid them to do the install, i continued to shop, i went back to A&B yesterday, dealt with a decent salesguy, and left the store in under 10 minutes with the deck i wanted, with warranty within my price range

I don't mind any customers, there reAlly are none that I ever talk bad about behind their backs or anything. Of course I classify a customer as someone who pays me to do an install, not someone who bought equipment, since I make jack off that. Now there are some non-customers who feel that by buying a $150 deck that I somehow am now required to teach them to install it, then repair it for free when they screw it up, and keep up maintenance on said product for the rest of their lives. They are the ones I don't like.
For example just last week I had an older gentleman come in with his sons sub box because the subs were "making funny noises". First thing I do is ask, who installed it? They did the entire system (him and his son). So I be a nice guy (I could have said drop it off and leave it, it will be $50/hr to trouble shoot). It isn't in his sons car he brought the box in his truck. Well let me tell you, he was very proud of his home made box with 2 MTX T6124a's (which I will get to in a minute. I ask if he bought it at our store, "no, we got them off you're website because we live in Hanna and can't come in to your store" (hmmm, he's here now though?). So the subs are held in by 4 screws on one and 5 on the other. I ask what amp is powering them "a Rockford 200m" Hmm, so way underpowered, he could have blown them from clipping. I take the first sub out it's a MTX T6124a single voice coil, measure it's impedence, check it with a battery, it works and checks out fine, except for every couple inches around the mounting lip there is some sort of hardened white "sealant" (the box is bare wood where the subs mount). Okay that is a problem, there is going to be massive air leakage all around the cirumference of the speaker. So I pull out the other sub and it is a T61244a dual voice coil with (get this) the coils wired out of polarity, with the same white gunk, and using 20 guage wire!
Now what do you say to this guy? He was just telling you how much he and his son enjoyed working on it and it is very apparent that he is proud of his work. There really is no way to put it nicely. The work was utter crap and these guys should not be allowed to touch any car audio. But here I am trying to be nice and I say,"you will need to buy another MTX T6124a, and it will cost you an hours worth of labour for me to fix all this." His response beleive it or not is that I don't know what the hell I am talking about and am just trying to rip him off. At this point I have already spent over half an hour with the guy and have a paying customers car waiting for me to work on. He says the subs are obviously blown and he is going to exchange them. I say, "well they will call me about it and I will say that they are fine and it is the install that is at fault for all these reason I have just explained Mr. Customer". He called me an and walked out.
