Ever do something, then right when it goes bad you realize how stupid you are? Check this for an example (happened today):
I was on my way back from Tobermory (3.5hrs North of Guelph) to Guelph, I had to pee and was on my way back into Guelph, not minding my speed. I cut a corner through a parking lot to pass some stupid traffic that refused to make a right hand turn at the light. As I am zooming away, a cop pulls up behind me at some point, I notice him when I get to the next light. I get pulled over, here is my list of infractions that I can think of off the top of my head as I am contemplating my defence:
1. No insurance papers (I forgot my updated one on my desk at home)
2. No front license plate (American car, never thought to put it back on)
3. No ownership (with my insurance papers at home)
4. Rearview is busted off (fell off on Thursday, part of the reason I didn't notice the cop)
5. Third taillight is missing (I took it out to fix the bulbs, never put it back in)
6. Open alcohol in the car (empty bottles, behind my seat. Forgot to put them in the recycle bin at the campground)
7. I "WAS" speeding (I have no idea what the speed limit was, but I was probably 30 over for a joke).
... probably a few more I can't remember
Cop walks up to my car, I take out my license hoping to appease the police Gods. He takes it, asks some questions about where I live, where I was going, why I didn't see him, etc etc. I keep telling him I have to pee and I was just trying to get to a bathroom (sweating now, in case he asks for other stuff). He says something about having to be a ***** and having to spend 20 minutes in his car ... I didn't understand it so I just said "Sorry". The guy lets me off !!!!
Holy cow, I almost died. I don't even know how much that would have cost me had he decided to ask for more info. As I was getting pulled over I kept says "Oh s***, I am f***ed" ... my GF's like "Why, what's the problem, it's just a ticket". I am such a goof.
That's my story of how dumb I am.
