Indoor Antennas
#1
Currently in my apartment my options are Cable or nothing.. So for the last X number of months it's been dvd after dvd.... I was looking on futureshop's site and found the Rca Ant401 or the Ant501 they seem to be the same except the 501 has a clock... But main question is do these really work? The one Ant401 I am looking at has a 25db amplifier that you can adjust yourself to try and pull the signal in if it's weak... I belive it's 49.99$ I wanted your opinions before I got out and buy one...all the others I have seen are 10db amplified which is better then nothing but nothing special either... Sorry and 1 more question if it's 25db and say I bought a power splitter for example that boost 10db would that give me then 35db amp or because it's going into this splitter would it cancel out the 25 and just give me the 10db boost?
Thanks

I would never do this, cause it's illegal and bad, and stealing satellite signal is the same as stealing from a store or bank. But why not toss up a satellite, or are you just facing the wrong way to toss up a dish?

I think you'll be able to get around 10-20 channels.
we have a big amp'ing antenna at work in the lunch room and we get like CBC, CTV, CHCH, OMNI1, OMNI2, FOX, Global, NewVR, and a bunch of other channels.
When I didnt have cable I found that I got all these same channels, but obviously the reception with the antenna was much better.
However, don't expect to run them on your HDTV or anything.
They are watchable, for sports or sitcoms or whatever, but I know some people are really sensitive about their TV reception.
