..and I just got home from the hospital with 4 stitches in my hand..

I went out to help a customer at work find a relay and module in his van.I go to reach up and point it out to him and RIP!!Made a good gash, but I told them to just wrap it up so I could get back to work..NO WAY JOSE!!

So spent 5 hours...thats right 5 hours....to get in...man I tells ya,the health care system has a lot to be desired in my books...

Anyway..I'm off to bed..just thought I would vent a little first...thanks..

Talking

Yeah I broke my nose a few years ago and got to sit in the emergency room from about Midnight to 4AM. While I am sitting there gushing blood from my nose holding towels over it, they are taking people in before me who have hangnails. Pssshhh first come first serve. How about most serious first. If I had been coughing up my spleen I probably would have had to sit there for 4 hours.

^^^ Actually it's supposed to be most serious first, which is why it always takes so friggin long. My advice is if your hospital (or somewhere near) has an after hours clinic, to goto that instead, wayyy faster.

I know down here went my sister sanded most of the skin off of her finger last year it only took an hour...that was a funny day because when I was called the office I thought I was in trouble but they asked me to drive her to the hospital....she is the only one I know that can use a sander to sand her finger to the bone

^^^^ Well, my take on that was if it was a scared little kid that wasn't feeling good, that is probably why they let him go first. Still dumb though when a guy is losing a pint of blood per minute!

True paying for poor service stinks

BUT

So does paying $100 for a run of the mill hotel or 5 bucks for a 6 of domestic beer. You pay for it, just not directly. The cost of the ‘heath insurance’ shows up in almost everything you buy.
You have socialized health care to screw up the service and the performance or your doctors, we have HMO's to give us the same shortfalls (HMOs ARE basically socialized medicine). When I lived in Montreal people drove to NY to get treated for health issues since NY was relatively cheep and the service was good (waiting for 3 months to see an orthopedic vise driving across the border today). Now I am not so sure we haven’t allowed our free market to become as cumbersome as your heath care. I like the principle of social medicine it is the execution that annoys me.
