I would love to...someday. I can't justify paying 3k plus/person when i can rent a nice condo somewhere like golden with a pile of friends and ski for a week at kicking horse for a heck of a lot less. That is definately something on my life's goals list though...

It is something that I always wanted to do...and am very lucky to have a GF that works for them. By far the most extravagent ski trip of my life. The food is phenomenal, the scenary is breathtaking. And the skiing, well the skiing is un-freakin-belivable.

The packages range from $1000 day/person to $10,000 day/person (approx).

I was fortunate enough to get in a day at Wiegele's on Jan 2nd. By far the best day I have ever spent on snow. The experience of the heli is worth the money alone and the skiing is a bonus.
Drew, I used to think I couldn't spend that kind of cash on skiing/boarding either, but once you go you realize why everyone does it year after year.
Enjoy the experience!

There's no replacement for heli/cat - sure if you book someplace for a week, you'll likely get some powder turns. We had a great day at Kicking Horse last week - about 1m of snow in the previous week and about 15cm overnight. As good as it was, it paled to my heli/cat experiences. It's non-stop freshies vs tracked out stuff by noon. A quick ride up in the bird vs. standing in line and riding the chair.

To paraphrase a somewhat famous quote, "if you have the means, I highly recommend it"

I've got about 10 days of cat/heli in, all paid for the hard way... but I'm working on an angle for that....

If you don't go this year, you'll only be one year older when you do.

And call around about standby rates if you're on a budget, you might be surprised

Hah, I have you all beat. Today's weather is sun and warm (as in t-shirt and shorts and all the pricechecks you can shake a stick at), you can golf pretty much every day of the year (except today as they are booked solid) The grass is green, the flowers in bloom and half an hour away at the skihill is 450 + cm (and climbing) at mid mountain... Life is hard here on the island. We are actually working outside today on a glass job it is so nice and warm out.
