I have no issues at all with Mazda motors but I would be leary of any turbo motor (without a rebuild) with that kind of mileage. Even if the motor's fine the turbo might be in rough shape.

dont buy a turbo car with that much milage, ur just asking for trouble, a turbo puts alot of stress on a engine, and that many miles on a turbo ur just asking to do an engine and turbo rebuild. But as far as turbo cars go, the old turbo mx6 was reliable. If it hasnt had a turbo replacment or rebuild i can pretty much gaurentee it will need one after that many k's.

Well, looks like I got lucky buying a turbo car.
I got myself an 89 Dodge Lancer Shelby with 222,000k on it and the turbo sounds smooth as a whistle.
She's been using 5w30 all its life and still doesn't leak. No rebuild as of yet.
Oh, right. Forgot it's a Dodge and likely handles 12 lbs of boost better than other manufacturers.

A guy at my work place has one and he has 374,000km on it with the original motor but the turbo doesnt work. His father was the original purchaser and its still running strong.

This is the only car that looks to have a good motor, some of the more recent mazda's have tranny and engine issues.
