I've been looking at both for a while now but can't really decide which way to go. Anyone have any pros and cons of either? Thanks.

MP3 all the way. Apple IPOD. They have gone down so much in price. I think you can get the one with a 20GB hard drive for about 400.00 You won't need anywhere else for your music. That will hold over 4,000 MP3's! They are sooo nice. You can get them in 15GB, 20GB, or 30GB. So awesome!

The IPods looks sweet as hell. I really don't see you going wrong with either one. But Mp3 is alot more convient than minidisc and alot more common than it too.

I own an MP3 player but its from 99' it's great all it needs is more room (it only has 32mb) but it uses alot less batt. and it tells you how much batt. is left and it's alot faster to load the mp3's then burn a cd. but my only problem is the space I can only put on 12 to 14 songs at a time. but I still love it.

I just happened to be looking at the new Radio Shack flyer and the following caught my eye:

iRiver MP3, 128mb, fm tuner/recorder, $199.99
RCA Lyra MP3, 64mb memory, $149.99
Sony Net MD, $179.99

Any opinions on these models or similar models of MD or MP3? Basically, they will only be used while riding my motorbike, so I don't need to fanciest piece of equipment in the world, just something that does the job well.

Dude, get an MD. You can use it for all sorts of things and in all formats. If you are going with an MD get a SONY. I think SONY has mastered their MD.

If ya just want MP3's and nothing else, then get the MP3 player without a doubt.

DUKK, the new sony TYPE R's can download as fast as MP3's
