I got a Pearl jam Discography from a buddy along with a bunch of other tunes and the Pearl jam Discography is in .MP4 format.

I had never heard of this format before so I tried to read up a bit on it but am still confused.

What is this format?

Is it compatible with on my MP3 player in my vehicle as it seems I have to downlaod seperate codecs to play the MP4's on my computer even.

Is this going to become the new standard of media?

Little help on this would be great.

Thanks

ya but these are supposed to be music tracks of pearl jams albums?

and also I have made movies from .avi and vob files and iso's all that stuff ...but these are apparently audio files in mp4 format.

If you google MP4 its different than mpeg4 format from what I understand.

When I googled it, it mostly looked like video not audio.

They did list a site www.mp4.com but it didnt work on my computer. However the internet access here is dumb and won't let me on sites that others can get on it'll simply say it cannot find it. However it might work it might not for you. Try it.

Other than that I can't remember off the top of my head what exactly mp4 does/is It could be a new way for them to stop people from burning things so easily who knows.

yeah the mp4 site isn't working on my PC either. It is another type of audio. Not widely used though so obviously there is limited info on it.
