most of the newer mustangs camero's and vetts have over the old stuff is wider rubber

i think alot of the older cars really didnt have a wide tire (compaired to todays standards) the compunds were also crap.

but for the most part toss on a set of slicks and see what happens

and the fast ones were factory limited editions (eg thunderbolt)

i wonder how accurate some of the times are though ... says a 90 Ford Mustang GT Roush Twin Turbo ran 14.5 ??!!! - very close to a stock mustang time which as far as i know should be mid 14`s...

I didn't see the Hemi Dart on that list anywhere, although they were not really street-legal with plexi side windows and the headers for them shipped in the trunk.....

"Edit" Quote from http://www.budgetperformance.com/articles/hemidart/ : "Despite the strict disclaimer concerning the '68 Hemi Dart, it was too much of a deal for true racers to pass up. With 600 hp (about 480 at the wheels) in a car weighing in at 2150 pounds without the driver, this incredible monster tore up the quarter mile in the mid-low 10s @ 130-135 mph, with minor tuning. The sound of the majestic elephant breathing through open headers was a deafening song unlike any other--you cannot truly comprehend the sound of an uncorked Competition Hemi until you hear it."

again tire compunds have come along way.

although they do have class now i think its stock appearance and the run 11 with a "stock car" i think you can run one tire size bigger so if the car came with an "F" you can go to a "G".

alot of people dont toke in to account of the weight of these cars (FULL FRAME!!) granted there were a lot of light wieghts in the pack

and ye there just isint any thing like the sound of a dodge
