My Accord Wont Start!

Recently, I found that my 1990 Accord LX will not start! I know its not the battery for sure because all my electronics turn on (also we tried giving it a jump). I think it might be something with my starter or alternator, but i think the cause of it might be my remote starter/car audio i installed a couple of weeks ago. If you guys have any ideas/suggestions to what to do, i'd be happy to consider them.

Thanks alot

Does the starter click? If no then look at the remote start starter kill relay. If it does click, look at the starter itself. If you can give it some cracks with a hammer to see if it will release.

striking your starter with a hammer should only have to be done if it was under powered and it welded itself together . btw don't smoke it use a soft hammer i have seen some one crack a starter for a 287z 2 kawasaki with a 14 L cummins in it your little accord starter will brake if you hit it to hard .

sounds like your remote starter is having some problems , try running a starter button from your battery to your starter solenoid and see if it works . key on wire form bat to solenoid with a button in it click button and your starter should go .

starters don't last forever but i would try running a jumper like i talked about above . get a multimeter or test light and start seeing if you have power going to your starter etc

Honda and Toyota starters have starter contacts that wear out, but that usually coincides with a clicking noise and can usually be made to work by tapping the starter or holding the key in the start position for a few seconds longer, but if you say it does not click and isn't cranking over then I would agree with the remote starter.

took it to the mechanic........apparantly my distributor wasnt working....and im guessing it was caused from a wire that was connected to the remote start. Should i re connect the remote start to the distributor or just forget about it?

As long as you have the blue wire off the distributer hooked up to the remote start then you should not have any problems hooking it back up.
