hopefully he learns some kind of a lesson. We've all done stupid things in our life and probably will again, the important thing is to learn and not make the same mistake over again. He is more than likely going to get a big fine, maybe a suspension, and definitely lose points. Atleast, nobody was killed.

He has gotten a lawyer already, he just found out the charge yesterday and hasnt had time to talk yet. He has learned a lesson from all this. He has went to the public school board, and has been granted the oppurtunity to talk to highschools about street racing, and driving fast. He's just finished highschool lastyear. Yea, apparently the road's have been totally changed now, and limits are different. We're not talking his going 100 down a residential road, it was coming off the highway.

and yes, he did upgrade his brakes. He had Brembo front and rear.

Did this guy live in the area and was he familiar with the roads? If so, then he cannot claim ignorance to not knowing the speed limit.

while I do not wish harm on anyone. My VERY close uncle was killed in an accident this past christmas due to a wreckless driver (driving 120 in a 60 zone) and driving under the influence.

and the grief my family and I went through because of that and still do. It does not excuse a person for speeding that much. As for the legal part of it. The driver, his partner and the owners of the home they were drinking at, are all being sued. I will not disclose the amount but its quite a bit. The driver is also being charged with man slaughter, and negligence. His lisense has been revoked until the proceedings are over with (will take another year or so) and he is under house arrest.

Get your friend a good lawyer. He should be happy no one was killed. Driving is a priviledge not a right, not enough people realize that and take it for granted.

I believe he was coming off one of those 2. As for speeding, yes he was being stupid, but he was not under the influence of anything. He was totally straight.

I think that's the funniest line I've ever heard.

come`on guys, i`m sure everybody here has driven that fast, or even faster. cops love speeders and so do insurance company`s. i feel that they are in ca-hoots together because its easy to catch speeders than it is to catch murder`ers and rapist`s. besides its a cash cow. if johnny law or the system of government would truely concerened with speed, car`s would be manufactured to "go within the desired limits".

Happy to hear he's recovering but if that is an excuse as to why he why going so fast it is poor.
50km/h zones don't look like the 401. Signs or not.
</font>
Yea if anything slow it down to 70km to speed in a city....

Sorry to hear about his luck hope it gets sorted out properly and just tho.

Why would you sue the others and not solely the man who was driving ? It was he who killed not them? Just curious sorry about your loss.
