I was doing some work inside my patents house..I go for a drink of water and I look outside and my neighbours cattle barns are all on fire..I go over and and since 2 pm..I've been running water, drink, and food from the house to the firefighters at the fires. I also donated 3 boxes of water to them as well. Their equipment is all destroyed as is all their hay. The majority of their cattle were outside. The worst part is that my neighbours were at the International Plowing Match..

They are such nice people. I feel so sorry for them.

Please give your prayers and thoughts to the Kobe family and pray that things will get better.

That sucks.
I wonder if the hay started it. Kinda difficult this summer to get enough days for the hay to dry well enough before bailing.

that barn held 160 hay bales..it will burn for a few days..

Every farmer in the area is just praying it wasn't arson..

We have 3 large barns on our farm..so we're on edge about the same happening.

Ouch, that's brutal. I'm sorry for their misfortune.

Doesn't hay sometimes 'ferment' and generate enough heat to self combust?

Zach what would happen for the most part if it was Arson?

That really sucks, i wish all the best for them they probably just lost a lot of profit as well, not to mention food for the cattle.

Are your neighbors back now or? Were you the one to call the FDPT?

No. A trucker saw the smoke form the highway and called the fire dept. I rushed over first thing I saw it to see if I could offer assistance. They were back around 4 pm. Just with a look of shock on their face.

The fire is still burning strongly. If it was arson, a crim investigation would be launched, then from there who knows.
