umm try search & destroy. then ad aware. or try spy sweeper. when i had spyware i would usually run all 3 because some would catch different ones.

i have ad-aware right now, but I have a retarded trojan that got into my computer, its a desk top thing that installs a pop-up that says your computers infected and to click here to fix it, then you click and it installs a program called Spysherif, then it runs and links you to a site to buy it....pretty clever but equally as annoying.

Talking

OK, here's a good starting point....

First, go to www.lavasoftusa.com and D/L Adaware V6.1 (or whatever version they're up to now). Install it, run it, and quarantine any crap it finds on your system in the way of malicious cookies, browser hijackers etc.

Next, go to http://www.trendmicro.com/hc_intro/default.asp and run the Trend Micro HouseCall AV scanner. This is the free, updated and easy to use solution for those of us too cheap to buy the software...

You will probably have to re-boot a couple of times during the process, but by the time you have run both of these programs at least twice each, your system should be pretty clean. Please keep in mind that a single program for AV and one for spyware may not keep everything off your system.

Personally I run Adaware every couple of days, and run Housecall twice per week. I have had very few problems with my systems for the last 10 years or so...best of luck with yours...

I use all three, can't be too safe. LOL. Defender found some crap I got from downloading a bootscreen that Spy-bot & Ad-aware didn't.
