the most painful experience i've ever had was the local anesthesia for a root canal on a top wisdom tooth with an infection (ask a dentist what that means and he'll probably cringe).
after about 20 minutes of anesthesia and my body being worn out from the shock of pain (i found that i have the tendency to sweat all over when someone is poking a long needle into my nerves and creating excruciating pain) i didn't feel any more pain after that... only discomfort. didnt even toucht the T3's.

here's my advice: get the appropriate antibiotics (amoxicillin) so the infection gets under control and then go in for the procedure... should be a no sweat thing. reason being: the acidic nature of the infection neutralises the anesthesia which is a base (well, it takes alot more of it at least, and that can be painful).

I'm really not usually much of a pu$$ but, one of the days after I got my four pulled I started getting sore... it would go up my cheek to my ear and it was pretty bad for a few hours... The rest was a breeze. But, that one day for those few hours killed me! [img]graemlins/dunno.gif[/img]

 

I was got knocked out for mine, and was pretty doped up for the day, the next day the pain wasn't too bad, I just took a few advil and a couple days later i took out my stitches.
