New Gaming PC build
Thanks to Fresh 1 and his cuz for the hookup.
Since it is warmer now and the PC is done it is now time to get back to the audioz.
Yeah that was the plan from the start. Keep it around $2k but still get the best and fastest for the money. Oh yeah check your PM in a little while I am going out to measure the trunk in a few for the new sub that is on its way.

Got an awesome deal on them $102.97 each + tax to my door. Going with 2 Velociraptors as was suggested to me would have been almost the same price, and yes if I was just transfering huge files from 1 spot to another they would be faster by far. But for say loading Windows and game levels where it has to pull info from dozens of different files these SSDs really kick some serious butt. We did a direct comparison when we had to update the firmward for the SSDs we couldn't do it with them in the raid. So we loaded Windows 7 on the 5400 rpm 1Tb 64mb cache HDD and it took sooo long to boot and load Windows I thought it was the old one starting up. LOL
Here you go, they are an online item only though...

Well yesterday was not a good day. Turn the new beast on and smoke starts pouring out the side of it, there was so much I expected to see flames any second.
So I turn it off while I am having a break down thinking I just watched $2200 go up in smoke. Take the side panel off and start to look for the burnt spot.
Could not see anything and nothing is hot so I take off the other side panel and as I lift it up I notice a 3" black streak across the inside of it. Well match it up with the case and it turns out to be the little speaker that makes the happy beep when you turn it on. My case did not came with one and when we were having trouble getting it to start windows we put one in to listen for the beeps. The entire length of wire(12" or so ) is burnt to a crisp and the insulation is now hard and flaking off. Disconnect it and check for any other wires and find a fan wire running the same way. Change that around real quick and turn it back on and hold my breath. I figured it was going to be okay as it was still loading Windows as the smoke was pouring out of it. So all is good now it is happy, it just doesn't announce it when you turn it on anymore. LOL
Holy crap it took an hour before I could breathe normally again.

That would have been horrible, you are so lucky.
Being that it is brand new, it still is troubling to me that it did fry the speaker and fan. I would suggest getting the MB replaced under warranty. You wouldn't want it to cook something expensive next.
So on my last post, you didnt ready my quote did you
I was asking about the sub (mach 5)

Glad to hear its working OK, sounds like something you should get straightened out soon tho, it's never good when the magic smoke comes out....
