New Gaming PC build
LOL If Bill is good lets giterdun.
I have had stuff sitting here for so long and its been too cold..
Doing big 3 then run to the trunk using 0awg
I figure I will get the sub amp in now, I can do the speakers another day as that seems like it will be a huge job.
9gb of ram is WAYYYY overboard.....
i can see SLI video card setup being great for all the new big name games but 9gb is far too much....
4gb is MORE then enough.... even when doing video post production it doesnt need much more then that....

When you guys are ready to go call me, we can figure it out from there....
Barring any rain the bay is there.....I have a crab apple tree to take down tomorrow morning before I can play.....if the electrician calls I will have to trench out a space for a new conduit run for the garage power feed.....sigh

Hopefully the weather doesn't spoil it for us, I have heard its going to be only 6 and rainy
I havent heard back from nick, but I'll give you a call tomorrow to see whats up.
So just a quick update. Well the ram is not going to work, so I will be getting 6Gb of Kingston 2000Mhz instead. Many thanks to the knowledgable staff at Tiger Direct for recommending the OCZ ram I bought that is incompatable with my Mobo.
Right now it is only seeing 2Gb 1066Mhz dual channel. Even with that problem this thing just absolutely smokes.

We would have had a problem eventually as SSDs dont fully delete info from their sectors until you fill them up. Then when you save it has to go through and look at every sector and check if it can write there.
The update has a trim thinga ma dealy for them that force them to completely wipe the sector clean when deleting files.
This thing takes only 5 seconds longer to start up than my old one does just to shut down.

Well could not get the Kingston ram, and this board is real picky so just to be extra safe and done we went with 6Gb G-skill 1333mhz 7-7-7 and the Mobo loves this stuff and it's more than enough. Quick update on the SSD raid, we found a firmware update for them.
