I dunno if anyone on the CCA follows hockey as much as myself but holy crappin crap crap is it looking to be a killer NHL season, its nice that 4 or 5 teams are controlling 70% of the franchise players anymore......for instance Chris Pronger going to Edmonton as a Flames fan I just pooped when I head that, I cant believe how the playing feild is being evened out.

Reports are that the Canucks have re-signed Markus Naslund to three years - $18 million. They will still have about $5 million in cap room but probably not enough for Peter Forsberg or Scott Niedermeyer. They might be able to re-sign Ed Jovanovski though.
The hearing on Todd Bertuzzi's suspension might happen today. If he's cleared to play, the Canucks might not look too different from 2003-2004?

Sounds like Scott Neidermeyer might be going to either the Canucks or the Flames as he wants to be closer to home (Cranbrook, BC).
The Canucks might be making room as they just traded Brent Sopel to the Islanders for a draft pick. That frees up some cap room....
