Oh Canada
I'm not much of an pro sport fan. Yet that being said I'm impresed with the latest Oilers team has and is doing. What realy gets me excited is how Edmonton is reacting as a group.
Yesterday during the opening Oiler fans got much atention when they sang Oh Canada. Yes I wasn't there yet the coverage got me to thinking/ remembering fall of 2003 Memphis Finals. We Canadadians got together for a few pictures. Some one began singing Oh Canada. Wow what an out of pitch yet perfect sound. To top that some judge tried to get us to turn it down. Not it went up a few Db. It was an great memory for all as was to many last night and looks like got national attention.
Way to go Oiler fans your truly made history in an good way. Thanks for the memories.

It's pretty cool watching a game on tv and getting that effect as if your in the building......sure it's not my team but just the fact of "hoping" Canada gets into the stanely cup playoff which Edmonton will of course I think would give any true hockey fan the "shivers" from excitement... Sure I would be more excited if it was the Leafs lol... but I can share the love for the Oilers as well...
GO OILERS!!!!!!!

I don't believe it was the first time the audience ever got to sing a cappella (for lack of better word) at a hockey game. The guy who sings the National Anthem at GM Place for the Canucks once in awhile, did this the last time the Canucks went to the playoffs.........
anyway, copy cat.
Just like the audience towell swinging trend -- started with Canucks (Roger Neilson).
Now, if the game was held anywhere east of Alberta, the audience would have to sing O Canada in French........ hahahahaha in BC, there would be silence if that ever happened.

Anyone notice the guy on the boards right next to the glass singing? I couldn't tell if he was singing or having a heart attack! That was pretty cool though!
Interesting side note, they always sing the National Anthem here in the USA obviously. But, there have been a few times where they will sing Oh Canada after they sing our song. Which is kind of neat if you ask me.
