anyway... i went there and didnt see anything i liked.. (mind you i didnt know what i was looking at) i made a mental note of what they had to tell him when i got back... so im telling him and i mention this really old looking deck that was in great shape but looked old fashion.. he was like "wtf? oldfashion?" im like "yeah it looked like 70's... mcyntire or somthing..." he then freaks out and yells "mcintosh!!?" so now we are racing back there and sure enough... it was a mcintosh deck... only about 3 years old (at the time)
i didnt need a deck at the time so my buddy grabbed it... price? 45$ :smilie_da

Yeah, sometimes they have some cool stuff, but it's never cheap.

Damn.. that's just depressing... for me.. :(

The cash converters in Peterborough was :lame:

they sold NIB pyramid, sheerwood, and soundstorm equipment at retarded high prices.... everything else was either garbage or was so overpriced you would be much further ahead going to ebay or looking for used gear on a site like this....

Lets see, I think I remember a used kove armageden 12" sub going for a steal of only $650+ tax and the best was a old skool RF 18" from the mid 90s for only $899... LMAO ! (not to mention the beat to hell amplifers they always had) oh yea a pair of used thump! 10s in a prefab box for $220 also made me laugh...

and then there was a $500 mens diamond ring I brought in expecting to get at least $75 for, and they offered me $20....

:hitit: :sold: :urat00l: :rippedhan

Apparently they closed sometime last summer

Hehe, should I even mention getting a near mint PPI AX606.2 and a decent PPI Powerclass monoblock for 220 at a different pawn shop :P

I also got 2 kove armageddon 15's and a MTX 2300X for 300 recently, split them up within a few days and made a hundred bucks. I still have the horrible ghetto box they came in, if I can get some super cheap 15's I'll take it back and probably get 100 bucks lol.

lol, I used to work at the Buster's at 410 & Queen. They get some nice pieces in, but unfortunately they do tend to price them on the high side.

although, one time I managed to snag a Zapco AG150 and AG350 for $50, tax in. at the Cash Converters down the street. Its hit and miss with that location, sometimes you find something at stupid low prices and other times its off the wall

At that busters they still have a rodek amp there they had like 2 years ago lol was a ra2150 they were asking like 360,and still are lol dont they get it?

At that c.c i did get a pair of fosgate 6x9s in wedge boxes for 25 bucks, mint and worked perfect?

Trying to figure these places out will make ones brain smoke........

The prices are simple... Some (stupid) employees think that anything designed to work in a car must be worth some money, there's the high cost items.

Then some people don't ask for much thinking it'll be easier to get out later, then the drugs take hold. Hello deals.

Viperoni 01-31-2007 11:26 PM

If I worked the buy counter in one of those places, I would be broke, but have a massive stash of gear. The store would have nothing lol.

Yeah that Rodek is still there..... I eyeballed that US Amps USA-25 they have on their wall, but it's too steep @ $150.
I ended up getting a a/d/s PS5 privately for $80 for my tweets, and it does a great job.
