So here I thought I could get my phone bill caught up this payday...WRONG!!And guess what?I'm scheduled to be disconnected this Tuesday [img]graemlins/banghead.gif[/img] ...Time to call the phone company and start kissing some [img]graemlins/2xblown.gif[/img] ...


Oh well..worse case,phone gets cutoff for two weeks,I use my pay as you go cell at home(when I am home),and then next payday,get everything squared...Not too bad really....Its either the phone bill or food on the table and gas in the car to get to work...simple choice...

Only other prob is chances are I'll loose my internet as well...Ce La Vie!! [img]graemlins/dunno.gif[/img]

Anyone else ever been in this spot?Did the phone company work with ya at all?Just wonderin'...

Yeah... most companies are pretty cool about working something out as long as they see that you're making an effort to get things worked out.

(btw.. if you can't afford your phone bill then I think it's probably a good idea that you didn't go for the "big" install this season)

 

Switch to a cheaper plan or make somethin else cheaper...

Do talk to them though as stated above they are lienient(sp) to those who are willing to pay some rather than none.

Landlines alawys have a signal, cells however do not and there is only one, if the battery dies you have to charge it, versus one thats plugged into the wall on a landline.

 

So I did some kssing up yesterday and they are letting me keep my phone til next payday on 2 conditions:
a:I have no more long distance til the bill is paid in full.

b:The bill must be paid in full on my next payday or the phone will most definatly be gone.

All things considered...I think I "dodged a buleet" as it were...

As far as not affording it,I can afford it, I just never put as much priority into it as I should for some reason.. [img]graemlins/dunno.gif[/img]

Anywho...I guess you guys dont get a break from me...suckas!!LOL......JK......

Oh and yeah...using a pay as you go as an everyday phone...HOLY CRAP!!Ask Rob VO...It costs him a small fortune to keep his running....not a great idea...

 

If anything is so urgent that I need to be contacted immediately there are always ways to do it, otherwise, your message can damn well wait a few hours on my machine till I get home, and then it may wait a few days before I get back to you.

I do not NEED to be accessible 24/7, noone does.

my favourite story is of an old man who finally, after years of his family nagging him to get a phone; got a line installed. afterwards, his daughter came over with her family and were visiting with him, when the phone rang. His family was surprised when he completely ignored it, and figured that he didn't know what was happening.
"dad, the phone is ringing, you better pick it up" his daughter reminded him. He looked at her and said "No. The phone installation man said that since I now have a phone I can talk to anyone I want, whenever I want, and I don't want to talk to anyone right now."

 

Yeah my aunt & uncle do that sassmaster. They only answer the phone when they want to. And in most cases if they dont know the number they wont answer (gets annoying when my dad calls from a cell phone to say he's gonna stop by)

My theory when I'm at home because dad gets so many business calls I stopped answering the phone unless I know its gonna be for me or my mom. If the call is important they will leave a message on the machine as they were to leave one with me if I answered. I'm surprised at how many people don't leave messages and just call back later. They all know that my dad's not home till after 2-3pm everyday yet they call at all hours (including late at night when he's trying to sleep). They call on holidays and family occassions and interupt them for their stupid needs. Some people have no shame and no respect. And one of these days someone's gonna answer the phone and yell at them for thinking he has no life that he has to go right to their feet just because their computer doesn't work.
