for home theatre look for something with a high contrast ratio. The higher the better. Some projectors are made for data, some are made for video. Make sure to check the little things to. Most models now do come with all the standards but things like ceiling projection options etc may not be there

I work in av so I use projectors for different thins but I hate infocus, they are crap as far as I am concerned but like all thing to each his own. Take a look at the bulb price for when you have to replace it. Most projectors last about 1000 - 1500 hours before they start to loose there quality and bulbs are very expensive to replace. If you are using the projector for everyday tv viewing you will have to replace the bulb more often then you would like. I would recommend a set rather that projector but if you already have the space go for it but beware of the higher cost to keep them in shape.

Panasonic has a little unite that looks quite nice for video and data(computer can be hooked up) and has 2000 luminence brightness and all the little features for $2000. LBPT 10 u (or something like that)

many projectors have this problem, even the higher end digital ones. They never give you a "true" duplication from what is on your tv or especially computer screen

Make sure the room you are demoing these in has the same light entering it as the room you're using it in your house does.

We had a Compaq Mp4800 I think it was in here for movies 1 day and wow the colour was amazing they played Finding Nemo and they where as vibrant/sharp as that of a tube screen was pretty amazing..
