Pics of my old school bike project!
#1
Well I've posted pic's on every other forum I'm on, so why not here too!
Anyways, this long weekend I came back home to work on my old project bike and take it for a quick ride now that I've got the new chain/sprokets on and it's kindof a peppy little 550! Runs really sweet too, been sitting for a number of days and when I got there pulled up on the choke, and by the 2nd revolution she was purring.
Been a fair bit of work to get it to this stage so i'm kindof stoked about it even though I'm sure for alot of you it's way to old school for your liking! I still need to fix a couple cosmetics like the speedometer, right side pannel, right side exhast pipes... but I'll drive it around for awhile and see if I like it before dumping anymore cash into it
Anyways, pics!

This is the best of old school honda. These engines are bullet proof! I had a 750 same vintage.
First thing you want to do is drill and counter-sink the front
Reason - when there are no holes in the disc and you're running in the rain then pull the brake lever - nothing happens until the water gets pushed out then it grabs - problem is while you are waiting for it to grab a bit of panic sets in so you pull a bit harder -when it finally grabs - the wheel locks - lots of fun!
There are a zillion parts out there for these and there are lots of old race kits for that engine. I'm trying to remember the most common name - eludes me at the moment
when are you getting your colours?

Here's a link to some articles and info on the 550 including swapping 750 engine in, overbores, etc.
