Honestly... anyone looking to distribute DD up here is looking for failure.

Not just because *I* couldn't do it, but there are a lot of reasons. (too many for me to get in to... plus a few I won't discuss here)

Ya I have been helping him out with Steve Milton at DD as I know a few people at DD so I figured I can help him out.If you don`t mind can you maybe fill me in thru email. You should still have mine if not PM me.

I know I have been trying to get a bunch of parts from DD with not much luck from anyone or a dealer in Canada but I know it would be a ton more easy if we just had a distributor up here.

I do know this is the only audio here wants to carry but at above the dealer level and not end user sales. The dude has money to burn so it would not surprize me if he did become one LOL

well there are 3 main reasons why DD would not fly in Canada.

1. Price - very expensive for the general market.

2. Recongnition - 19 out of 20 average car audio and electronics consumers in Canada will have no idea who or what Digital Design is.

3. Support - there is absolutely no support for any DD products in Canada.

Thanks for the reply Yuli
But I don`t agree with your numbers 1 and 3
For the number one thats like saying this about others that do fine in Canada like Focal,B&W and other high end brands like this, that most if not all of the items are out of most peoples price range.Oh how about Audio Quest not many people pay min. $400 per 14ft RCA I do but most won`t and I know they do huge sales up here as at one point I was a dealer.

Number 3. well would a distributor not change this.

I do hear you on them but I can go on for a day with a number of makes like this that do just fine that class under your numbers 1 and 2

number 3 is what he is trying to change as he only wants to work at the distributor level to be able to give support and make it easy for Canada in the DD audio brand.
Hell Chris at PT is still trying to get parts for that 9512 that he got from you that was made in to a 9912.You know he is a dealer but with a distributor he would not have the problems as he would have distributor support that DD lacks to all places except the US but even then it is not great.

Just like most out there for support you need to go to the distributor.Kinda like Phoenix Gold you can`t go direct you must go thru Trends

when ppl got f-ed over and are out $$$$ , i do not know if DD helped them out at all . then you tell someone that was f-ed over by the last one that there is a new DD distributor in canada what do you think he/she will tell you ?
maybe in 2-5yrs form now but not now
i think the ppl who had DD went to things like atomic or ft-one sub.
yes you can still see DD at shows but not the # of cars that there was

who was the last one? and this was stores out of cash or end users?

Sales to dealers my be down and take some time to get back up and a name for them self.
most did go other ways because it is so hard for service up here but that does not mean a new distributor can`t change this. All this is doing is giving a slow start but things can change.See I do know he is not in to end user but in for parts, service and dealer support nothing more or less.
So in other word I was right on number 3 but there are loop holes like a slow start and gaining trust back up here in Canada plus a few others.
I will get a bit of info on the last one when Jessa gives me a call this week but I am not sure how much he will fill me in on them.

Oh Cass just got canned from DD and its a big hush why anyone know why?

Thanks for the info this will all help him in the end.

See I can see him changing the DD world up here in Canada thru his racing as he drives for Fram and has done a ton for other industries bring it to racers att.You know the type of people that spend $200,000 and up on a car every 2 years just to go thru a few $50,000 engines a year to stay in the 5sec range on the 1320, money is no object to them
