If you were to buy a Mustang around those years I would buy either between the years of 1988 - 1993 or after 1995. 1994 and 1995 were the last years for the 5 litre motor but had a different body style than the 88 - 93 Fox bodys and are harder to get parts for and they don't look that great. I would suggest a 1988 - 1993 5.0 litre or a 1996 and up 4.6 litre V8. Good luck on whatever you buy.

I still think buying a 2 dr is a HUGE mistake for someone your age. The insurance is WAY more than it is for a 2dr, especially if you are buying a imported car. I think you should be worrying more about future costs than being cool.

Right now im paying 1500$/y and im on my parents insurance as a secondary driver AND im driving a 4dr grand prix.

I've decided against an Import. I'm going with a domestic. The only thing is that 4 doors aren't my style, I'll deal with having to pay more then having a 4 door. That might sound stupid, but that's just the way i am.

Just so you know then, your going to be paying more than twice the amount of a 4 dr a year then.

I remember my mum got me some figures to compare with..a 2 dr 2000 civic was around 5000$ a year on my own insurance.
