Do you want the entire fence to be metal?

In my yard I have put a large fence using the green covered metal fencing material with wooden posts and wooden cross boards.

The costs will vary depending on lumber prices in your area.

Curious to know how much it would be to put up a 180foot long fence hehe. Either just raw materials, or with the labor included.

I originally wanted to make mine wooden, but the neighbours want the metal mesh fence.... so I'm going to go with that.

The wooden fence I calculated about just a little over 2000$ in raw materials if I do it myself. And I had an estimate done from a compagnie and they said 7000$+taxes installed.

So I am wondering what the prices would look like for the metal mesh fence as oposed to the wood fence.

I dont want chain link really..but where I live I must be 20 foot away from the neighbours house..so both of them want chain link... dont have much of a choice... and we dont plan on staying here for more then a few years.

I still need pricing, but I guess no one has had one installed recently.

I'd suggest just giving Home Depot a call and asking them if they could give you a quick estimate on 180ft of chain link.

To remove the ghetto effect of chain link, you can also purchase a plastic weave that installs through the links and provides much greater privacy. I'm doing a chain link myself right now for Ms. Tuner at the totally useless animal sanctuary. She found a crapload of old chainlink and poles that we are using, so our cost so far has been me watching her try and hammer.
