Im all for keeping cherry but its a numbers game and cherry just doesnt put up the numbers. HNIC use to be the most watched show on sat night when i was a kid (and thats going back some years) but it has faded and people arent watching it like they use to. Plus with cherry's 1/2 a mill salary can't be helping much either. I remember when cherry would be at every cbc broadcast for the early game in the playoffs but this year (and i think last as well) he has only been at the toronto games. So its like paying a guy top dollar to work only at most 3/7's of a week.
Don't get me wrong i would love to have him stay as he is a canadian icon but do you want to pay taxes for someone to live the high life just so you can say you watch him?

Well he was at the Calgary games. Most of the players that play, are gettin paid more then he is. Take for an example, Detroit Red Wings with a total of 78 mill player pay roll, one of the players (Brett Hall) is getting paid more then the hole payroll of the Calgary Flames (38 mill), pretty close any ways.. Maybe its 2 players but hey you get the point. Im sure if he does get booted, he will stil be around the NLH some were and some how.
