So today I was leaving the parking lot of my bank and I'm drivin down the road with my window down, and some dude in a van calls out to me and asks if I want to buy some house speakers.I flipped the bird and drove away. I didn't know this scam was still going on! If I had more time I wish i would have gotten his plate and called the cops. I have two dumb friends that bought from these guys quite a few years ago, I'm suprised people fall for it. Anybody else see these freaks lately.

The cops can't do anything, unless they don't have a vendor's license. The best you can do is warn others by alerting your local media, that it's low quality trash with no where to go for warranty etc..
There's nothing illegal about what they're doing if they have a license .

Next time, call the cops and then go occupy their time until the cops arrive. BS them worse than they are BSing you and see what happens. I love to play with idiots like this. Doesn't take them that long to pack up and move on....so then I followed them to the next mall. hehe

In BC, PST must be collected regardless of annual sales. But most police officers have more important things to do than run around trying to bust these guys for tax evasion.

I get approached at least twice a year by the white van speaker guys. I wonder if this means that I fit their target profile, and whether this is a good thing

Here's a couple good reviews of the white van speakers, with measurements:

It makes me somewhat amused but mostly angry when I see these speakers in someone's living room because I know exactly where they came from.

I've seen those "type" of speakers with names like (I love this) "Acoustic Audio" as well as the other names mentioned.

i called the cops on them when they were out in front of my store. they actually make the speakers and sell them out of a van to make it look like they are stolen. believe it or not they are legit.
