C'mon, just use common sense. I have delievered stuff in person a few times (meeting people somewhere) and I haven't ever been attacked.
Just make sure it's an open place, bringing a friend is probably a good idea as well.
Just a note: If someone starts changing stuff at the last minute, it's usually because they're trying to get you into a situation where you don't have time to react correctly. My boss does it all the time to customers when there's a problem.

Had something very similar happen locally a little while ago with two people from www.revscene.net . They actually left their car at the scene and took off. Car could have been stolen though, who knows.

Something similer happened to me!
I was in Calgary coming home from snowboarding and decided to check if beyond.ca had anything good in the for sale section, i was "lucky" enough to find a pair of infinity kappa speakers for 100 bucks! I emailed the guy and got a pm almost instantly i agreed to meet him outside of a boston pizza at 8:30 so i went and waited, and waited when finally this old granny car pulls up and two guys pop out I figured, its ok hes just making sure i dont jack him. He started off nice, asking about the snowboards on my car. Then when i asked about the speakers he said yup their in my car come grab em. so i go over and look in the trunk...their was nothin their. and to my left their was the driver to my right the passenger, and one of their buddy's was behind me. they told me to give them the money or they will make sure im breathing through a tube. Now of coarse i wasnt going to fight 3 guys with god knows what weapons. so I swung at the driver got him good, and ran my *** off to boston pizza. I told the waiter guy at the front what just happened and he called the cops, about 5 minutes later the cops came, I walked out to see my car with the room rack empty and 3 of the windows busted. Long story short, got the guys ip address of beyond.ca got the cops and they did sweet **** all. no compensation no nothing
