shrinking pics

I have some pics I'd like to upload but I can't cause they are above 800x600 res.. what can I use to change the res? I've tried in mspaint but can only change the attributes which totally screws the pic..

ACDSee works quite well for previewing pics, organizing storing, minimal editing, and of course, croping, and resizing...

Photoshop will work. If you only have a couple, fire em off to me and i can resize them for you.

We will be adding a Gallery to the site for Car Audio images soon

^^^ yeah I"m going to go out and purchase high end graphics editing software so I can't preform the task that a freeware, or shareware piece of software will do exactly the same... it's resizing pics... really.

now if you have the ability to use PS to it's potential, and can warrant the need then it's an amazing program, I wouldn't use anything else, but c'mon... Unless you are condoning, or encouraging piracy, I'd stick to more helpfull ideas..

Regards, Mark

I use PhotoShop, a pirated version that I downloaded. Not that I usually support piracy, but full Photoshop costs like 700+ American dollars here from the store. And that is insane. Not to mention I am sure even with piracy Adobe probably still makes plenty of money off packaging their software with computers and other bundle types.

^^^ It's priced that high for a very good reason, and not that I would want to pay more, they could charge a lot more, and still have people eager to buy the next version... for the same reason that 3d Studio Max is upwards of 4000 USD, and that's cheap as far as #d modeling software goes... Soft Image is closer 10 10k USD...

I don't care about Piracy as far as other members, it's just of a Mod is going to imply that another member go out and screw a company over, then how are they going to deal with transactions that go through this site... how's that any different that fraudulent sales happening right on this site... Or is it a case that you can rip another company off as long as you don't do it here.???

^ Typically all I use photoshop for is resizing images. I don't think I'm really stealing because that is pretty much the only feature I use ever. I don't know of any other photo programs that do it. I just knew Photoshop did it so I downloaded Photoshop. If there was a 50 dollar photo program out there that resized pics I'd probably pay for it. Photoshop was simply the only photo program I knew of so it's the one I downloaded.

I agree with what you're saying though.

I use some photoshop esque linux app. It's called doodles or sketches or something like that. Very powerful and best of all it was free.

I don't understand where you see that a mod was implying he do something illegal to fix his problem. Most people these days have photoshop or a friend that has it whether its legit or not. He suggested he use photoshop, not he go out and steal it, and how is he even to know if he has it or not ? Relax.

Lightbulb

I used MS Paint to resize my Avatar. It was dead simple and Paint is free. I used the 'Stretch' feature - just be sure to use the same percentage for both horizontal and vertical and your proportions will stay the same.
