its 15 years old to the month of manufacture...
so it should still be an r32 unless he lived in japan for 3 years and brought the car back with him... or was it a min of 5.... i cant remember.

this is going to be my 1000th post, and its only fair that it should concern one of my favorite cars (i actually own a 1992 300zx TT with a few goodies and have done some fair research on the Skyline).
For about $15K USD you can import your own R34 if you know what you are doing... just can't make it street legal yet since the R34 is not that old. it is by far my fav series.
The skylines on our streets are mostly in the hands of fanatics and those who know the car fairly well, which means they try to keep it fairly well maintained. the exceptions are indeed those people who've wanted a Skyline for its name and historical performance but have no idea what a car like this requires in maintenance if you will be either beating on it or modifying it. not only are parts a pain to source affordably, they are also usually far away and take quite a while to ship! good luck finding an 'expert' mechanic for the car too!

i once tried to complement an R32 on the 427 and the owner got snooty and took off on me... a few seconds later i showed him my brake lights...punk!

there's an idividual at The ontario Z club that did just that. However, he and his son went to either Tokyo or Hong Kong and searched for the car there… I think it took them a week to find a prime example with 70,000KM for about 12K USD.
They stripped it and basically mounted it to the shipping container. Since it was going to strictly be a track car, there were no legal issues to deal with.
You may want to contact this individual and ask for advice… I’m sure he’s got some good advice from experience.
if you post on the club or go to a meeting, you should be able to find him...

12k for a 1999 skyline R34 not likely they are going for $30,000-$65,000 depending on condition and mods.

remember R34's new were close to $100,000usd
