Some Car Recommends...?? 15-25k
Hi all.
Been having some problems with my Neon, so I think it's time to get rid of her in the next little while.
However, I have been having a dilmemna choosing what to go after next round. Im not positive how much I wanna spend yet. I work for the Railways, so there is always a chance where I can get laid off for a while, so at this stage I want to buy something practical (as opposed to that Turbo PT cruiser or Subaru WRX Id love)
Anyhow, any recommends for overall GOOD cars that are fun to drive, have some spunk, and arent a general "lemon car"?
So far im thinking Ford Focus ZX5 or ZX3, or a Neon R/T. What else would you recommend? Keep in mind I have FULL intentions of puttin in a stereo in it (in stock locales mind you)
Both those cars have 130 HP which aint too hot, but good for gas for some of my longer road trips!
anyhow, whats a good bet, new/used, any advice and experience is appreciated!

I have a 2004 SX 2.0. They don't call them Neon's anymore. I thought the R/t had about 150 hp? anyways the mileage in mine is pretty low for a 4 cylinder but it has pretty low gearing and goes pretty good. For a few grand more than your price cap you could get a SRT-4. I just test drove one yesterday and let me tell you, I am ready to trade my 6 month old car in.
Get an SRT-4 if you want anything along the Neon line. It's far more worth it over any Civic.
btw, you're really liking that SRT, eh Dereck?
Torque changes lives.
Chrysler may make cars with mediocre looks, but they still win.

Check out the Acura EL Classy car, quick enough..
Might be a little out of your price range, but I loved the Volkswagen GTI 1.8T.. 180HP, lotsa low end torque. It was a blast to drive.. Think they start around $26k though

The 1.8T may start out at 26k, but it's quite a price to pay considering you have most manual options and such baseline stuff. Sure, with the stereo aside, you could build it from there.
But I'd think for $28G you get a Honda killing grocery getter for a good $20G less than an STi.
Don't be giving any flack on the reliability bit, mmkay?
