Soo sub goes *no sound*....
So my buddy downgraded to one sub for the time being as he was going to sell them but wanted abit of bass for the time being.. So we hook up his Eclipse Sw6123.4 up to his Visonik V400XD and wired as 2ohm supposedly giving the sub like 500+rms I think the amp states like 750Rms.. which it sound amazing for the first 20-25 min then it just went quiet no more music at all just a silence.. So we get back to my mother in-laws push on the sub, * we did find some areas that needed to be sealed better caues the smoke came outta them*...So we new the sub was toast unscrew it from the box just filled everything with smoke, but the sub still moved... Took the sub part later that night and this is what we see....

So now the question is what caused it was it the obvious fact of overpowering, or was the amp clipping the signal? It also popped the fuse which was a 60amp up near the battery....

^^^ It was going pretty good...talking full Xmax most likely...We kinda figured it would happen anyway he wasn't to concerned about it since he had another as a back up.. But we where more curious if it was due to the overpowering by like 500RMS or more....or a clipped signal... But yeah it was beat on pretty good.....I am thinking more so just overpower...
^^^Well I don't know if it was clipped I figured the "experts" who deal with this stuff all day would ne the difference between clipped/over power so that's what I was wondering.. and yeah overpowered by a whole lot lol... Sub is rated at 250rms and the amp at 2ohm is rated for 750rms... So like I said I am 100% it was the huge overpowering... But I just wanted to verify lol...

Not this again. Clipping and Overpowering are NOT the same thing. Putting 3kw RMS 60hz test tones to a sub rated for 100 rms is overpowering. Trying to make a 50w RMS amp duplicate that output level by clipping the hell out of it would be clipping.
