Were you married at the time you got your loans? That may have made the difference for me.

Secondly, my numbers are a little be wrong. I got roughly $14000. That was a combo of OSAP and Canada Student loans. I do know that everything over $7500 in total was forgiven. I already re-paid my Canada student loans (in the ball park of $2000) and all that is left is 5500 from OSAP. I don't remember the logistics of it all, I do know what I paid, and what I owe.

I was married in 2000, and got the osap for the 2000-2001 academic year.

Blind, I guess we have different philosophies on $. I see $30/month as $360/year, and $1440 over 4 years. To me, its worth a bunch of hassle to save that $. Even if it means a couple days worth of non-stop haggling to get the $.

I now have OSAP sending me mail saying I made more than I stated on my application last year there for they knocked off my entitlement to $4,000 from $6,000. I love how they're student financial assistance when it costs about $4,000 tuition and $5,000 residence. They don't help at all IMO. Here is yet another reason why I went for the TD Bank Student Line Of Credit instead of OSAP again.

</font>[/QUOTE]You could look at it that way but my parents technically are paying my interest so I'm not really paying anything at all. I get $300 a month from my dad.

my gf made a mistake on her OSAP once and missplaced a "," and a "0" making it appear that her father makes $1.4 million a year. Osap gave her like 30 bux, it was funny as hell
