I just got a 360 for x-mas... the thing with foils vs a rotary head, is that the foils generally cut closer, but arne't great with longer hairs, whereas the rotary's cut longer hairs better, but don't shave as close.

the 360 has a new piece in between the foils to help get at the longer hairs, and I haven't had a problem with it at all... nice shaver.

I have never tried an inline shaver but am on my 3rd rotary style and I like them. I would think a rotary might be easier to shave around the edge of sideburns or a goatee as well is you sport such items, which I do.

I prefer blades most days but I have had a few Philishave's over the years that I use when blades aren't an option.
At the moment I have the Philishave 8000 series (8894 to be exact) and I quite like it. Let's you dial in the closeness which is a nice feature.

I remember the older electric shavers would dig into your skin leaving scars on ya face but never used one only razors...But would imagine the technolgy these days in electric shavers would be different

Over the years I have tried, keep in mind I have a very thick beard and I have been shaving for 24 years (since 14)....

Panasonic dual foil -- sucked

Remington dual foil -- sucked

Philishave triple rotary -- ok'ish, but not very close shaver -- harsh to neck area

Starting with Gillette twin blade, and now the four blade "powered" variety -- very good, but I almost think I have done myself a disservice -- each generation seems better at first, but my beard adapts....

Two years ago I received a Braun for Christmas and I love it -- it is less harsh on my face, I use it comfortably everyday and I do not have to buy those expensive blades... I still use a razor if I have not shaven for more than 2 days out of necessity or for special occasions.

So, I suggest the Braun

I've narrowed it down to three and I think settled on one:

Phillips HQ 9190: Philips Consumer Products - Product Details

Braun 360 complete (8995):
360° Complete - Braun

Panasonic ES 8164:
Panasonic Men's Grooming - ES-8164

They all seemingly get pretty solid reviews, but i've read the least amount of bad responses about the panasonic ( had no idea they were a big shaver company - but apparently they are) from a large shaver website/forum/review/sales place in the UK. Only possible bad thing is you can't plug it in and use it, it's wireless/rechargable only, not that thats a huge deal.

Only problem is finding it now. Found a website in canada that you can buy it from, but a sears or the bay would be easier if they flippin had it.
