tax on large vehicles
what the he//. this is gettin crazy. i know it's good for the planet and stuff. but come on how's a guy like me supose to afford a truck once this thing goes into effect. it's hard enough to find a used one that's in good shape and at a good price, but now i gotta pay an extra tax to make those damn political people happy.
Work harder, work more than one job, have parents who spoil you or drive somethin else.
And don't spend money on things you don't need especially if you really want the vehicle, make sacrifices.

Well here in BC there has been a tax on vehicles over "X" amount of $ for years now. Only certain vehicles over that amount were not subject to the tax, for example a F350 is well over the cutoff but it is deemed a work truck and is exempt from the luxury tax that we are charged here. As far as another tax goes on the gas guzzlers, good for it. If you want to play, you had best expect to pay. The intent is not for the consumer to bear the brunt but for the manufacturer to improve economy and emissions (at our expense for now).
Tyler, a guy like you could be out on the rigs right now and afford a vehicle like that. Some people can do this type of job, others cannot. Other go to school to find out how much it sucks and then they flip burgers for awhile or do whatever. If you want to afford something like what this tax is meant for, get a good education and pursue it or get onto the rigs or construction.
