Drew, I never even put any power to the old DD. It sat in my basement and I actually sold it to my brother...aka "smoke_31".
That sub was way too much for either of my Mustangs and way too much for either of my ears.
My brother is running it off of a Hifonics "2000 rms" amp and holy $%% is that thing scary. It's in an 06 Matrix and the roof flexes like crazy.

 

I want one in my FOCUS 4 door.

The car will be all MTX for amps, subs, speakers. Obviously it's not set up to be a dBdragger - I'm shooting for a really authoritative bottom octave. The box is 27cuft tuned to 25hz.

The install isn't done, this was just the first time it has moved since January. I saw no point in loading it up with gear and then not driving it until spring. The gear will go in before next summer.

We took it out for a cruize last night. Surprisingly zippy for around 7000lbs
