so i'm having some starting prob's on my ol small block 350. i jsut did the intake and slapped it all back together. so i figured maybe i got no spark...
well lets just say i had spark. lol unplugged the boot from the plug, got up on my milk crate so i could see inside the engine bay. grabbed my trusty flat head screw driver. stuck it into the boot, told my gf to crank the key... wow was that NOT a good idea. lol Arm still hurts from the spark and i think my heart should be good tell i'm 90 now. lol
not sure why i posted this, but i felt it was needed to share with the general car lovers. lol
oh and now i understand why my boss won't let me do eletrical work. lol

First rule with electronics, dont touch somethign that will spark. Put the screwdriver down, haha.
Which reminds me of my story. I had my strobes on when I was testing them, looked at one that wasnt doign anything, saw the red wire that was no attatched. So I grabbed it to look at it, and it of course still was getting power (12+ power, going to the strobe box thta has a cap). I couldnt pick up anything for 5 minutes, and my arm was numb for a good 10 minutes.
I was just sitting in my car laughing. My sister walked by and thought I was weird.
Dude... leave the wiring to the electricians, or at least someone who isn't gonna kill themselves...
FYI, the worst shock I ever got was from an isolated high voltage line... at a certain voltage the line acts like a capacitor and can store a pretty good charge, so they're always grounded before we work on them. This one section was isolated before each side was grounded, so it was still charged... reached up to touch it and check the bolts on it, arm was against the casing... it hurt all day long. 3 years later and I still remember that jolt. I'm lucky it went in my hand and out my shoulder of the same arm... across your heart can kill you.
another useless fact: electrocution can kill you up to 8 hours after the shock happens, and if you go to the emergency room and tell them you've been electrocuted, they'll put you on a heart monitor for 8 hours, no waiting.
