well I had a car stereo stuff stolen a while back when I was living in NB.. it was a 87 trans am...had t tops he popped one off... got into it and stole the deck the 2, 12" Rockford punch (red ones) my 2 gm 802 pioneer amps and they even took the stinger battery I had.... they even tried to take my eldelbrock carburetor off... but they left 1 clue and I got even... the idiot dropped his wallet in my back seat....and I ****in knew who the was it was the local druggie looking to sell some stuff at the pawnshop......before calling cops....I went to get my friend who is a bit crazy.....and loves this so if he had back up I was ready... got my nice bat that I had made in woodshop a ****ing long time ago..... and went on down to his place.... and well you know what.. the ****er was just getting in with all MY STUFF on his kitchen table.... I asked him if he dropped something and just looked at me and knew he was gonna get it.... my friend closed the door... his GF came running down the stairs knowing what he had done and the crazy bitch told us to get out...my Buddie took her out side forcefully..lol and I preceded to wail on him good...not with the bat though... I broke his nose, he lost one tooth and I broke my index finger... cops arrived a few minutes later when I was walking out with MY stuff..... (I had receipts to prove everything...)the cops arrested me for assault also fined 57$(back then it was a big fine)me for disturbing the peace and he went to hospital... I did have to pay for the broken table that I threw him on but the assault charges were dropped cause he never showed up in court that day... I heard he tried to break in to the local Yamaha dealer we have there and he got caught by the German Sheppards they have as guard dogs... he spent 2 years in jail for that, he was so high on coke he didn't even see the dogs till it was too late.... now when I go back home on vacation and he sees me coming he actually try's to avoid me..... man did it ever feel good to wail on him like that.... it was worth 57$ easy...oh and I got all my stuff back about 3 weeks later... had to prove it was all mine which was easy I have every recipt,,

Sounds like he got what he had coming to him .... I'd take a $57 fine any day for an assault. Especially when it's a thief!!

They found your vulnerability ... Anyone with a convertible, T-tops or even sun roof should get a proximity sensor. IMO, they're worth more than their weight in gold. Can't steal what you can't get near.

Well I can laugh about it now .... 15 years later. It was my first car, just got my system all installed from a local shop including alarm. They wired it under the driver side dash.

After the thief cut the horn and entered the car, they went under the dash and cut out the alarm trying to steal the car. After they couldn't get it started (busted my column to hell) they stole everything including my alarm brain and left the car in underground parking.... Nice ay? So I always wire my own alarms and never anywhere under the driver side dash.
