ticketmaster...green day...refresh button
#1
OK, sorry, but this is another one of those "venting" threads, but i'll try to keep it short.
so i'm getting all excited for the green day concert in may, in calgary, and tickets went on sale today (sat feb 26, 9:30 am). so i get up on the computer by 9:15 and log on to ticketmaster.ca to order tickets online. i wanted to get 5 tickets on the floor. i was all ready to go and on the right page. 9:30 rolls around and i hit the refresh button on my browser, only for some reason it kept refreshing a cached version...i dunno why, maybe because of cookies or something...
thinking it was just really busy or maybe my clock was off by a few minutes it tried refreshing for two or three minutes or so. then i though maybe i better clear my cache. so i did and then got the correct buy tickets page. i entered my request and by 9:35 all the floor tickets were sold out!!! i was so mad, after all that preparing and anticipation....i was sooo ready and because of my stupid refresh page not actually being refreshed i was gypped. by the time that I requested ANY type of tickets all i could get (for 5 together) was second floor in the far corner.
Now, if there is anyone out there who has 5 green day floor tickets i will gladly trade them 5 excellent view seat tickets and even throw in a $100 dollar bonus for the trade!!! that could really make a fun night! anyone else going?
urrrgh....i'm glad to have gotten tickets, but REALLY peevd that i won't be down in the pit for a concert that i've been waiting years to see.
thanks for listening to my vent...just have to let it out....

This doesn't make up for it at all and unfortunatly i got no tickets for ya....
But on a more positive note, assuming you liked what jay-z and linkin park did together.....ludacris was sayin he wants to get together with greenday and do a similar thing. I think that'd be hella cool since i think ludacris is a pretty cool dude and green day rocks!

I suppose its luck of the draw and things always seem to happen when people are most prepared I find coffey.
Consider that within those 5minutes, people all over canada were online, on the phone and on the street (booth) buying tickets at the same time who all probably wanted floors. And a certain amount of those floors goto family, friends of the band and radio stations and contest givers such companies like that.
Sucks about your luck, try scalpers too though if your that go get about the floors. Don't give up, check later on today, tonight, tomorrow they may put more on, I've seen that done before in the past.

I can assure you that no floors were availible by the time the show went on pubnlic sale. The pre-sales for EDM and CAL started at 10 am friday. That's right when I but tix, and I coulnd't even get floors. Lucky to get lower level. And edmonton sold out in less then an hour.

i think it's just crazy now how they sell concert tickets. what happened to the good ol' days of getting up early and waiting in line for hours for tickets to go on sale. that's when it mad it interesting and fun, it was for the REAL fans. now, people buy tickets online and turn right around and sell them on ebay to make a profit... stupid technology.
on a related note...does anyone know about becoming an ebay seller? i have some tickets that i want to sell, but if i do i'd like to make some profit on them. i've bought on ebay before but never tried selling and i was just wondering how easy/hard it was...

You will not be able to sell tickets for a profit on eBay anymore. I tried 'all the tricks' that used to work and I had 7 auctions cancelled. For example, you can't just include a hockey card and say any bid over the face value is towards the hockey card. You can't increase shipping cost to $100. Nothing works .. I tried!! You can try your local paper/bulletin board whatever you like.
