..My boss,with whom I have had a couple fallings out with and havent been in best company with since his arriving just before we moved the store,takes me aside and tells me he's seen my hard work and "loss of my attitude"(still trying to figure that one" and willingness to follow direction and tells me he's going to give me a .50/hr raise!I thought that was cool!
Later comes to me while I'm working in the back stock area,and asks me how much I make,I tell him(none of your bee-wax..lol)and he gives me a stunned look,he says "thats not good enough",pulls out some paperwork and fills it in for me to get a dollar an hour!!WHOOHOO!!
I know it may not seem like much, but I havent had a riase in over year,and figured I would wind up looking for another job before a raise would happen.
Its not quite as much as I would like,but hell,My Mom always taught me to never look a gift horse in the mouth!!
Oh yeah...And he redid the schedule so that now I only work til 9pm one day a week rather than 3.This means I can start looking at getting tiny sliver of my social life back!!

Let's see.. I have been in the Canadian Forces for almost twelve years.. my last actual pay level increase (aside from cost of living adjustments) was in february of 2000!! I have been at the same pay level since that time.. The only way for it to go up is for me to get promoted!! Mind you.. I do get to shoot all kinds of kewl stuff, drive tanks, Lav 3s,etc...

I right now make $8.00 an hour. I hope to become a security guard at the nuclear station and go to a $32/hr. But I got a year before that happens..gotta do PATI testing and get in shape for PREP..
COst of living..this area is plauged with that. All you can find here are jobs that barely pay more than min wage. Poverty is huge around here.
