Would that have anything to do with the risks involved in a power plant atmosphere? I'm honestly curious.
It is the industries way of attracting the best in that sector to that gig. It isnt that hazardous or risky but they simply want the best there

32$/hr at the nuclear station eh. I know a person that works at a nuclear station because of his knowledge about physics. He makes 650,000$ a year. That is the job im going to school for. Right now im stuck at 10.00 solid, never had a raise, but only been there 5 months.

Nice job on the raise man, I would be curious why your boss changed his impression about you though.

Even if you don't think so, Bosses noticed.

I remember when I was just started where I'm working now of 5 years, someone had told me about a comment the boss made in reguards to my work effort.

I conforted him about it and he told me as it was. 2 weeks later he came up to me and told me that he noticed the change since our talk and he gave me a raise. That was 7$/hr ago.

And thats what I tell all new employees at our shop, work your *** off and you'll get noticed.

^^^martin is so right on this one. they notice, even if they never say anything to you presonally, they notice. but it also depends on the "type" of people you work for. after two years at the last bodyshop i was at, i got back from appenticeship training, and they tried to offer me 60 friggin cents an hour more and work on flat rate.(this was on friday) i was on salary before. they kinda figured they were paying me too much for the amount of hours i worked,,it's not my fault i'm just so damn good lol. long story short, i loaded up my tool box and started at a different shop tuesday morning for 3 dollars more an hour. funny thing is monday morning one owner of another shop in town called me and offered me a job, and that evening the manager of the other shop came right to my door to ask me to come work there. there are 3 shops in town, and the one i work at is out of town. anyways, i've been there a month now, and i was told today i am gonna start getting another 2 dollars an hour i figure a 5 dollar jump in 30 days is pretty damn good.

Good job, Aaron. Right now I make great money, 9.50/hr and I work 30 hours a week, live with my parents, grade 12 in high school. I make 300 a week ish, and work for an absolutely great employer. When I go full time doing receiving (forklift operating) in the summer, I'll be around the 16.00/hr mark.

UPS just offered us a new contract a couple weeks ago, the union still has to vote on it.... 30 cent raises every 6 months for the next 4.5 years.... retroactive pension increase from 47$ per year worked to 55$ as of 2008, pay progression drops from 36months to 30 months to hit top rate..... and some other stuff..... new hires will end up gettin screwed, people in the middle get 2.70 over 56 months, and the big winners are the people who are retiring in 2008.... but i guess $24.24/hr to drive around and deliver crap isnt too bad...
