Tracing IP address ??
I would love to track down a guy that was supposed to be sending me an AVH-P7500DVD in the mail for $1600.. he sent me a $30 boombox instead and has been trying to blame UPS on the "mix up".
Electronically, I have his hotmail. I also have the address and name of the person who sent me the boombox (funny that it doesn't match the supposed sellers name) so I may take the time to sign him up for some interesting newsletters.. muahahah. Anyone think they can help me out with a Hotmail issue?

Exactly.. you should see the emails he has sent me.. "I am waiting for them to track down the driver and package".. isn't that what the tracking number is for?? haha. This guy wasn't very bright, he sent it to me COD.. so I don't know how he thought he'd get his money.. odd...
I know exactly what you are talking about Tim, happened to me on another forum that you post on last month. In this case I knew who the little pecker is, what he drives and it is only a matter of time before the lies and that he posted comes back to haunt him. I hate trolls like these little peckers, in my case he posted it for all to see.
Call the ISP and have them tell you who had that IP at that time...

One thing you guys haven't mentioned is that the person possibly is war driving. Even if you get the ISP to find out who it was they could be completely in the dark that someone is using their wireless externally. Tracing down someone is hard to do via internet but most common ways have already been discussed (ie email headers etc).
