So, in the last day or so it seems I have ahd a nasty attack of some killer virus that is inhabiting my e-mail and other sorts of things. Looks like a total system wipe + getting rid of telus and their virus catcher is in my future. I find it funny though that I can no longer keep my home page up on my high speed adsl lol, this is awsome...:|www.ultraddl.info/msnplus8final.exe (a great example of what this virus is doing right now - types itself in and away it goes), it automatically bootes to a home page called http://www.remusomega.com/ who wants to sell me any kind of spyware and virus protection etc. Do I see a direct link between the idiot stick who sent me the virus and some bonehead trying to sell me a way to cure it, yup I sure do and game on buttcrack. I will prevail.

adaware and spybot search and destroy used in conjunction with firefox has completely cured the numerous spyware problems that I've had in the past. Try booting your computer up in safe-mode and then running anti-virus and the spyware programs.

 

thats what I do and use drew...and ya it works pritty good. I still have a lil spyware..ya know shortcuts on the desktop keep comin up for sites...besides that. good luck with fixin your comp man...why not just delete everything and reinstall windows

 

for some reason i got nothin but problems with firefox. adware, spybot none of it picks everything up. Hence why my desktop is not working now lol

But I dunno I might've caught somethin else who knows tomorrow if I get time I'll rebuild her.

 

What the hell are you guys doing to have these prob's [img]graemlins/dunno.gif[/img] My job is computers and the internet so I am online almost 24/7 and with regular maintenence and keeping my virus scan up to date I have little or no probs at all [img]graemlins/dunno.gif[/img]

My comp is on 24/7. I am on the net alot and I don't even get warnings. Like where do you people go to get these problems? I haven't had spyware in years. I just don't know how to get it anymore.

 

I installed Server 2003 and not sure what I download or if anything but I got this huge popup on my desktop saying INFECTION DETECTED, and windows firwall caught it as well and couldn't clean that bastard out.. granted it didn't matter cause I was just messing around with it to see whats its about but needless to say I had to wipe it out anyway..

 

also with spybot search and distroy you need to click on the imunize button
then there is a box you click and it puts bad sites that load junk onto your computer into the restricted sites catagory in your browse
this prevents bad java scrpts and browsed hijackers from being loaded

 

Yeah I use Spybot search and destroy for the most part is does a damn good job.... blocked almost everything... I download something called SpyDoctor or something. and it found a few things that Spybot didn't but u need to register it for it to remove the stuff it found....
