Anyone hear about the WHA coming back IF the WHA were to knock out the NHL what would they do with the Stanley Cup, NHL wouldn't sell it to 'em as its an NHL icon(might notbe the right word) since like what 1900? or earlier than that??

Any opinions on this and teh retarded strike

I'm sure the Cup would be put in the museum and some new trophy would be made. Maybe its for the best for the NHL to die and a new laeague be installed.

The WHA will never take over the NHL. It just wouldn't happen.

The owners would let the players back in if they ever thought they were about to lose their businesses completely.

In a way it is.

Its gonna ruin the league just like when they pulled this crap with Baseball. Fan's just haven't been the same since that for that sport.

Boiling down to money is correct, and its ridiculous they alraedy get over paid and alot of players get underpaid. Its ridiculous the amount of money some of these players get paid and still complain about it.

WHA to take over NHL - It's ALMOST possible if they lose their support and everyone (and i mean everyone) were to transfer over to the WHA and get an offer they can't refuse it will take A LOT to make them go back to the NHL. And IFFFF it were to happen it would be sad as they'd be retiring stanley

It's not a strike ... it's a lock-out ...

Strike = Players refuse to play
Lock-out = Owners refuse to let players play

Exactly... there's a HUGE difference.

It's not "almost" like a strike because the players would go back to play under the same rules if they were allowed to.

Meaning the owners hold all the cards in terms of whether or not they go back to play. So, like I said, if it becomes too big of a problem they'll just accept the best offer they can get and then get back to the way things were.
