Compaq's suck Zach lol They make a lot of their stuff on board and the MB's they use make it very expensive to upgrade in keeping the same board and all. my buddy Anthony's Compaq MB has no PCI slots so we couldn't upgrade his video card lol It came with a crappy onboard 64mb video card, you would think 64's not bad but it really is bad lol We CAN upgrade his video card its just about 50+ more bucks for a video card that will read in the regular slots lol

Yeah some name brand systems suck, I got a Dell Dimension 8300 and you can do whatever you want to it aside from overclocking.... I haven't yet had a problem with my DELL... Except the operator "ME" I am always trying new programs and ****...if you want anything good for around 1G$ your looking basically clone system which is better anyway.

To those of you who didn't get it, the preceding post was a joke. I don't yet have the money to buy that G5 I've been drooling all over.

Please PLEASE let's not start a Mac vs. PC war. I'm sick and tired of debating about it.

Ummm, all brand name consumer based PC's suck and have limited expandability, not just CPQ.

Cicero is remanufactured poo.

Win2K Pro "blue" edition?

Actually for a n00b like you, an entry level brand name might just do for you.

Here is a sight to build your own, this will help you gauge what is and is not important by acknowledging price points as you upgrade (how much is 200 MB or ram worth) (how much is 100Gig of HD worth etc.).
