What do I do?!?

Ok... so a couple of years ago one of our users here had a problem with an item he bought on eBay.

The seller refused to ship it to him because he lived in Australia.

They went back & forth for a few months and in the end the user asked if I would be willing to act as a middle man and have it shipped to me before I ship it to him.

I agreed and a week or two later the amp arrived. Once it got here there were some taxes/duty so I paid those and told the purchaser that I'd send it out to him as soon as I got the cash.

Well it's now been nearly 2 years (if not more) and I STILL haven't seen the cash. He has all bus disappeared from the board and I now have this amp sitting in my garage.

From the way he explained it the amp is a fairly nice oldschool PPi piece that he has a strong desire for, I guess just not strong enough to pay me what he owes

Anyways, there has been the occasional contact from this user saying he'd have the money shortly for me and then he'd disappear for another 6-8 months without making payment.

So wtf do I do? Keep sitting on this amp and being out the cash that he owes me? Consider the money as a nice deal on a new amp that I've just acquired? I have no idea. Morally I'd feel wrong taking it and using it... but at the same time.. I'm owed cash and have been for a VERY long time.

I would contact him, assuming you must have his email, and tell him that if he does not pay you what he owes within X time frame then you will keep it\use it or sell it.

I think that's fair.

It's been 2 years(almost) and not even a small payment? I would say that he's abandoned the amp. You paid for it and you have possesion of it so I would say it's yours to do with as you please! I would tell him that if he doesn't pay in X amount of time it will be used or sold. Give him 10 days(more than plenty IMO) Then be done with the dead beat.

At this stage I would think that it is considered abandoned. I would consider it yours.

2 years .... I'd still give one last chance... then keep or sell it. I'm sure you won't have much problem getting rid of it. That series was some really good amps.
