Today we fished Sylvan Lake again, hooked into lots of fish I think between the 4 of us we caught and landed over 30 easy, wasnt even going to try to fish for Pike but firgured Id give it a shot.... good thing I did.
Should have heard him and the other 3 guys I fished with when we're all sitting around then I get up and run like a bat out of hell because I see my tip-up go off and land this 17lbs bastard, he decided to take a run once I got him to the hole and the nylon tip-up line tore right through my fingers down to the meat. But it was worth it. :P

As I look outside at sun, +15 and no snow at all.....nice to get away like that. I wish I had the time to do the same.

Nice...

I have a cabin on the south shore of Gull... And a buddy of mine is building a store/home at the NW corner of the lake. He's the guy that built the 1000 sq. ft. (EACH floor) double decker houseboat that's up there... And my brother just bought some rental property in Rimbey...

Yep, we all wanna move up there eventually. Get the heck out of the city permanant

Nice pictures, nice to see a fellow fishermen. I do alot of ice fishing through the winter in quebec as my uncle has a cottage up in Kippawa so i spend many weekends there ice fishing and snowmobiling. It doesnt get much better. You guys definately hooked into some nice sized fish. What were you using for bait?

Hands down my favorite species to fish for in the winter, and quite possibly my favorite to eat aside from Walleye.

and what I was using for bait?? Ancient Chinese Secret for the whitefish and a 8" Sardine on a harness for the Pike, the Ling were caught on a jig with a 4" Sardine.
