With the right techniques and a decent camera, you can pull stunning pictures out of a 1 or 2MP camera. And likewise, you can pull totally crappy pictures out of a $1500 6MP Digital SLR in the wrong hands. </font>[/QUOTE]Prime Example is my kodak 4mp 10X optical, yet the sony cybershot is 1 mp higher then mine, but yet it only has 3x optical which you won't be able to zoom to hardly anything or do much for image enhancements....So that 1 mp isn't anywhere near better then my 4 mp... alot has to do with the optical zoom..

As for the canon s400, I have a friend who has it a loves it to. But who is going to get a camera and say it sucks?

I just got the minolta G500 and I think it kicks ***.

As for the optical zoom, usually if you get high zoom, your going to end up with a pretty big camera...so you lose portability. And like mentioned before, dont waste your time checking out total zoom or digital zoom because you can "digital zoom" with the software on your PC.

I would give an honest answer if I thought it sucked. I would return it too.
I have tried a lot of digicams in the past few months and the S400 is the best that I have found for my needs.
