Hmm ok. Here's the story (as some of you might kinda know), recently been in the market for a home audio sub. Finally decided on a paradigm pw-2200 sub. Bought it from a dealer in BC (i live in Edmonton, AB) from a guy who used to own a store beside us. When we both had our stores, we gave each other cost+10% or similar on items. I've since moved to AB and he still gives me deals on things. So i purchased this sub from him and he shipped it out this way, he's great for that, althuogh i almost feel bad that he's always helping me out.

(here's where it gets hairy)
The sub i got was the version 2, which he was waiting for from paradigm when i talked to him. Talking to other people on various car audio boards, thats old equipment and paradigm has a v3 which has come out for the same price to replace v2. Only difference being instead of a 250rms/750max amp in the V2, the V3 has a 400rms/1500max amp. I thought i was getting V3 and didn't even pay much attention to it when i was having him ship this out to me as i was more so excited about just getting a sub.

Now that i got the sub, i'm thrilled with the sub, but a lil unhappy to find out i got shafted outta 150rms. I don't really wanna complain to the dealer i got it thru since it seems like everything he's done so far has been favors. At the same time, i dunno if i should talk to paradigm about it or not, cause i dunno if they get mad at dealers who sell their product below a certain price (like other companies i know) and i don't wanna get the dealer in trouble.

What would you do?


(all in all i'm thrilled with the current sub, i just don't want in a month once i get over my excitement to think back....."jackass")

I would say screw it, really for home audio wise you don't need 400rms of power running specially after building my ported box and it's only seein maybe 50 watts and it's loud I couldn't imagin 400 watts would be almost overkill...

 

It's only like 2db's more

I wouldn't bother just live with it, don't burn any bridges and be happy with the deal you got, IMO.

I wouldn't worry about it. You would have to research the exact differences in the amps to know if you are missing anything. It's quite likely your amp may be better quality than the v3 amp. The v3 amp may have inferior damping numbers, etc but have that nice marketing difference of more watts.

 

alright fair enough, you guys have got me convinced....

now i can try and dispose of this huge *** cardboard box....maybe give it to some bum to live in or something.


Off topic, just lookin at the box, probably chizzer will know this since he studies *****'s and the related.....what color is "Rosenut" ?
