Question

Anyone have any recommendations?

My mom's in the market for a PC. Her celeron 500 is giving her black screens with hardware failure errors and what not. So i've convinced her the only way around this is upgrading.

Thus we're in the market, they've always bought dell pc's up to now. I built my own and would love to build her one, but unfortunately she needs something she can finance or make monthly type payments on.

Just give me some ideas of where i can get a PC from that does this? (i don't believe NCIX does it or i'd go there again)

so far i only really know of:
- www.dell.ca (which i get 10% off of, but i don't think they'll finance that
- www.tigerdirect.ca

give me some more ideas

hmm interesting - on that note....with big gay companies like these....can i skip out on the cd-rw or similar and put my own in? Or is that like a no-no that voids all/any warrenty or anything like that???

Likewise with a second harddrive?

Both my local shops (Sneakers and Discovery) offer financing on custom made computers ...

Cheaper and better than name brand, not to mention the ability to upgrade and the great PERSONAL service.

You might want to check with your local shops as well ...

Nah, you can upgrade to your own **** it's just they come with pre set stuff so you might have to get bare basics put in, I.e Onboard sound, just normal cd burner instead of dvd burner etc etc...only nice thing with brand name is the tech support and someone to bitch at, pc's you buy from stores like Best Buy/Futuershop etc etc if u keep having problems you just keep sending it back for repairs with big name companies after like 4-5 servies usually you can get a buy back or upgrade etc etc... only advantage I found to buyin name brand

I wasn't talking Futureshop, I was talking an ACTUAL computer store You know, the kind that would fix your computer at their store and you can go talk to them in person ...
